My brother and I visited our younger brother who lives in California. During the trip we hiked 3 days in Yosemite, a drive through Death Valley and 2 days in Joshua Tree. I’ve added the routes for Yosemite which included a Yosemite Falls start, North Dome, Tenaya Lake, Sunrise Lakes, JMT back to Yosemite Valley via Half Dome. Joshua Tree walked the Boy Scout Trail South to North. Routes and Camp locations have been added to the Wild Camp Map page.

It was a great trip and would highly recommend the two routes we did. We did this in May 2026. Temperatures in the valley and Joshua Tree were around 28c. Higher up at 3000m it was around -5c. Plenty of water about in Yosemite so we didn’t need to carry much other than 500ml plus water filters. Joshua Tree on the other hand we had to carry in all our water for the two days (approx 4ltrs each).
